Folk dances and songs ensemble Brodosplit was founded in 1971. and developed out of the rich historical and ethnical heritage of Croatia, Dalmatia and the town Split.

   Over seventeenth centuries old town of Split fascinates with its beauty. The Emperor of Rome, Diocletian, built his palace there and then the whole town grew up around the site. An exceptionally large number of historical monuments witness to the troubled and exciting past that has been so well reflected in the richness of folklore and folk music.

   This richness has been the feature of the repertoire of Folk Dance and Song Ensemble Brodosplit whose tradition dates back to the period preceding the official founding date, because the young admirers of folk dances and songs, which represent the essential characteristic of an ethnical heritage, have been fostering Croatian cultural heritage in the Club for almost half a century.
